St. Joseph's Health System Haitian Relief Fund

By now, you have witnessed the terrible devastation suffered by the people of Haiti. Through the St Joseph's Health System International Outreach Program, we have had ongoing cooperative relationship with healthcare projects and education in Haiti for over 20 years. St. Mary’s is a member of the St. Joseph’s Health System.

On the request of the Haitian Minister of Health, we are responding to the devastation with a coordinated relief effort. We will work directly with our long-standing partners at the University Hospital of Port-au-Prince and the Hopital Universitaire La Paix in Delmas to provide those hospitals with emergency aid including medical supplies, medicines, and other stockpiles. In addition, teams of healthcare workers from St. Mary's General Hospital will be travelling to Haiti, also at the request of the Haitian Ministry of Health to assist in the delivery of emergency medical care at these two hospitals specifically.

In the coming days, we will send an assessment team to Haiti to design the most appropriate response based upon the needs as identified by our partners and University Hospital and Delmas. As such, we are currently assembling the logistics and lists of potential supplies that may be needed for intermediate and long term support as our Haitian colleagues rebuild and try to recover from this catastrophe. Our goal is to only send what is urgently needed rather than duplicating efforts of those groups already on the ground. You can help.

If you’re looking to make a difference in Haiti with an organization that has the contacts and the expertise to make a significant impact, please consider helping us.
